Help Me Keep Tiny Ambitions Ad-Free ❤️
Because ads and subscriptions are the worst. And I believe creative work should be rewarded.
I've been blogging for over five years and in that time I've made... less than $50 total (and I’ve lost count of how much money I’ve spent on hosting, branding, themes, equipment and everything else you need to run a blog/podcast, but it’s been a lot more than $50).
In that time, I've published 194 blog posts and recorded 54 podcast episodes (I counted, and I couldn’t believe it).
I never started out to make money from blogging (and I picked a poor subject to make money if that was my goal).
But as the years go on and the costs of running Tiny Ambitions continue, I want to be able to keep it an ad and subscription-free space.
I can't very well write about minimalism in one breath and try to sell you some mass-produced good in the next. I’ve written a handful of sponsored posts in the past and every time, they just make me feel yucky, even when I truly love and believe in the product. They just don’t align with what I want Tiny Ambitions to be.
Another option for funding blogs these days is through subscriptions (aka paying for content). I don’t believe that pay-walling my content through subscriptions is the right way to go. I want any support Tiny Ambitions receives to be entirely voluntary.
I also want to provide a way for my favourite people in the world, my readers, to show their support for my content, if they want to. People have asked me over the years, “what’s the best way to support Tiny Ambitions?” And I haven’t really had a good answer, until now.
If you've enjoyed my work over the last five years and are financially able to do so, you can contribute to Tiny Ambitions here: contribute.to/tinyambitions. Every dollar counts (literally, it will make a massive difference). In fact, every dollar will count twice!
Until November 19, Contribute.to will double every dollar given to Tiny Ambitions up to $1000. That means, if you contribute $2, it will become $4 thanks to the power of matching.
I don’t ask for contributions lightly. I know everyone has had a rough go financially over the last almost two years because of the pandemic. If you are unable to contribute (or just don’t want to), please know that your readership continues to mean the world to me.
If you do want to contribute, thank you. Your support literally makes my day and helps me keep going when things get tough.
Until next time, keep living that tiny life.
-Britt
P.S. If you’re interested in funding your own passion project (blog, podcast, YouTube channel, art, music, whatever it is), and want to learn more about Contribute.to, email me and I’ll give you the lowdown.
